Biography

Robert A. Simpkins, president of Global  Crosswinds , LLC, is an internationally recognized author, speaker, advisor and organizational educator who helps corporate, non-profit, government and military leaders develop realistic, actionable and adaptable strategic, sales and other action plans that create breakthroughs and achieve competitive goals and objectives. 

He’s been successfully doing this for many years, having deployed performance improvement initiatives in more than 50 countries around the world. He’s helped such organizations as Intervet / Schering-Plough, Dell Inc., Pfizer, Telebras and Telesp (Brasil), PAK 2000, Lucent Technologies, PT Telekomunikasi (Indonesia), EgytpTel (Egypt), Kodak, Diebold, Kenneth Cole Fashions, United States Department of Justice, United States Army Special Forces, NASA, and hundreds more.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards for his direction, application and knowledge-transfer efforts. He is a Board Member at the Institute of Management Consultants, a member of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals, a member of the International Society of Performance Improvement, and a member of T.E.D. (Technology, Entertainment & Design). He is listed in the International Who’s Who Registry, Global Registry of Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals, Personalities of the West, and the Biographical Role of Honor. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and advanced degrees in global management, global strategy and global leadership.

In addition to his advisory practice, Robert is an accomplished public speaker and author, having had key articles published by Business Strategy Series (Emerald Press), Competitive Intelligence Magazine, ASA, EMG Magazine, CEO Refresher, Employment Relations Today, IndUS Business Journal, Journal of Business Strategy, Consulting Magazine, and the American Management Association, among others. He has been interviewed on CNN International and MSNBC International, plus a large number of radio talk shows.

His first book, the highly successful Secrets of Great Sales Management: Strategies for Enhanced Performance (AMACOM, 2004), reached number 12 on the CEO Reads best-seller list and has been translated into Polish, Vietnamese, Nigerian and India-English. His next book was Not Another Pretty Binder! Strategic Planning That Actually Works (HRD Press, 2008) is now available at major resellers around the world. In 2009, he released The Global Crosswinds of Change: How Organizations Can Recognize and Respond to Change in a Changing World. Just released in February 2010, the long-awaited The Cultures in the Cubicles: The Power of Cultural Diversity in the Global Organization is now on-sale around the world. These last three books were written with his long time business and writing partner, Ms. Behnaz Sekechi Paknejad.
